Girls Weekend 2011...

Every year 8 of my girlfriends from home and I go away together for the weekend. It is often, crazy, dramatic, and loud, but most of all FUN! This past weekend was GW2011!!! We had a newbie this year also... Rachel, my soon to be sister-in-law came along and I'm so glad she did!

Friday morning I left CS and headed to my dad's condo at Possum Kingdom... we call it Kel's Place. Jackie, Alison, Molly and Madisen arrived shortly after I did and it was on! We decorated the condo with pink table cloths, streamers, and got out all the snacks. We spent the afternoon at the pool telling stories and sippin' on pink panty droppers. Mad and Jack had a dance off... don't ask who won because its a highly debated, sensitive subject ha. Claire and Rachel arrived that night but Alison and I were the only two willing to stay awake to chat for a bit... the others were so tired and needed to rest up for the next day.

Saturday morning Mendy and Melanie got there and we took to the boat. Mendy was our captain and did a fabulous job!  We went to Fox Hollow for lunch and then we were off to Hell's Gate! After getting the anchor to stick we were finally set! We threw in the lifejackets, grabbed some beer, and jumped in! The water was perfect and conversation was steady... Life was good! We spent more time at the condo pool then went to Salina's for dinner. Late night came so soon, we sat around the living room for story time before bed.

Thanks Me you can drive our boat anytime!

Sunday came and we said our goodbyes... As I got to the turn on Hwy 16 I watched in my rearview mirror as Jackie's jeep went Right, toward Abilene... I cried. I was going left back to CS and as ready as I was to be home with Jeff and our circus a part of me was so sad to be leaving my friends and having them go back "home".  Can't wait to see all of my Abilene girls again soon!

Kate we missed you and cannot wait to see you in October!
Rach thanks so much for joining us!!

Already anticipating GW 2012!

Things I'm Loving...

There are so many things I am loving these days...

I came home from work yesterday to this little gem that I have had my eye on lately! Thanks Mom!!!
I cannot wait to carry it!

How Fabulous are these Jessica Simpson Endo Sandals!
I've been lusting over them since last week as well! Now I want them even more to carry with my new clutch!

Rach and I have been taking Zumba and OMG there are soooo many things I want to wear to class...
Like these super cute cargo shorts...

or this Day Dreamer Zumba top...

And these Zumba shoes are a must!

Only problem is convincing Jeff that I NEED these things... He is certain that I already own wayyyyy too many clothes and shoes!

It's Official...

I will soon be Mrs. Jeff Stevens!
I know all my readers were just sitting around waiting for this day!
Jeff and I have known for a while that we wanted to get married and that we did not want a long engagement but there was just one little problem... finding a break in his med school schedule to actually have a wedding! A few weeks ago my sister came in town, Jeff and I showed her a picture of two different rings that I liked and that he would be choosing between. She had a definite opinion but did not really want to share in case it was not the one he picked... they are just a like in so many ways so I should have know they would like the same one!
Here it is!

Saturday marked two years since the day we met. We had planned a nice dinner at The Republic, a steakhouse here in town, and then a night out with friends at The Corner Bar (surprise surprise). That morning I went with Rach to find her a wedding dress. We found one and its absolutely gorgeous! I was so happy to be part of her dress shopping process! After that I met Jeff at Chili's for lunch, he was going to go study for a bit and pick up the next season of The Closer, because we have been watching the series dvds lately. I was going to take a nap and start some laundry. That afternoon we watched tv together and then got ready for our evening. I was insistent on wearing my white pants with this purple top I had just picked up at Dillard's earlier in the week. Jeff kept saying I should wear shorts or a dress because its so hot outside but I thought why when we would be eating inside anyway. Little did I know we would be spending some time outside. You all know my love for wine so it wont surprise you that I agreed to leave early to go to the restaurant to have some before or reservation. As we passed Research Park Jeff said he had a surprise for me... I was so excited! "Are we going on a picnic?" I asked... he said "Stop guessing bub you'll ruin the surprise."
He then informed me that this was a trial run because we already have plans for dinner but we could have drinks at the park! I was pumped! He actually got me a picnic basket! We took my new basket, complete with a picnic blanket, down near the pond where we opened a bottle of champagne (which could possibly be illegal ha). We talked about how this time two years ago we were just meeting and look how far we've come since then. Jeff took the ring out of his pocket and I started to panic because I had my other rings on, it was hot so my fingers were swelling, and I could not get it off haha. I managed to get my other ring off just in time!

After that we sat there talking for a while, finished our drinks, and then went to dinner to celebrate!
Jeff had also gotten me my favorite dessert, a chocolate tart from Cafe Eccel, so after dinner and before we went to Corner I enjoyed every bite of it!
We spent the rest of the night celebrating with friends on the rooftop of our favorite hangout!

The 4th with Great Friends...

We spent the fourth of July at Possum Kingdom with our good friends the Allens! Brittany and I have been best friends since our freshman year of college at Baylor and I have known Caleb since they met! It is so wonderful that Jeff and Caleb really hit it off because it makes it so nice to all hangout together! We had such a fun time catching up and drinking a few adult beverages all day in the pool! The lake was just too crazy and crowded for us to get the boat out so we opted to stay in the pool at the condo. B had seen a girl laying on a pretzel float on one of the clothing websites she frequents and she just had to have that float! Once we were ready to go to the pool Cale, being the nice guy he is, took about 20 minutes of his time blowing that thing up.

That night we went to a little mexican food restaraunt that I love called Salinas. I just have to go there when we go to the lake and get some of their seafood quesadillas! They are divine! That night we were going to drive down the road and watch the fireworks but once back at the condo we got so caught up in Mexican Train Dominoes that we totally forgot about the fireworks display. In fact I kept seeing a flash in the window and hearing the pops and swore it was about to storm... once we looked outside on the balcony we realized it was the fireworks and we could see them perfectly from where we were! It was BEAUTIFUL! Im so glad we were able to see them! After the show we went in to finish our game and I cannot wait for their new house to be done so we can go visit them and play again!
We Love you B and Cale and are so happy to have you as our friends!
